      How does BLL-30 Pyrolysis Work

      01Pre-treatment of Raw Material

Manual feeding or screw feeder/hydraulic feeder is used for feeding. After feeding the raw material into the furnace, the door is closed and locked. Note: if the raw material is tyres, a cutter is recommended for batch pyrolysis plants; and a tyre shredder is recommended for continuous pyrolysis plants.

      02Pyrolysis Process

Burners and exhaust gas lances provide the heat required for the main furnace. The pyrolysis reactor is controlled at atmospheric/slightly positive pressure and the reaction temperature is below 500°C. Pyrolysis is carried out in a hermetically sealed oxygen-free state, resulting in the production of fuel oil, combustible gas, and solid residue products.

      03Condensation Process

The high-temperature pyrolysis oil gas is cooled and liquefied by the oil channel condenser (the cooling medium is circulating water) to obtain fuel oil, stored in a storage tank. The non-condensable gas can be used as fuel for heating the main furnace after purification by water sealing and pressure stabilization.

04Treatment of Flue Gas & Residues

The high-temperature flue gas is cooled by a flue gas cooler under the action of an induced draft fan and then enters a spray tower for treatment. The solid slag produced is cooled by a water-cooled screw-type slag conveyor and then conveyed out of the main furnace using a drive-through coping plate in the main furnace.

Oil Sludge Pyrolysis Plant in Libya

Oil Sludge Pyrolysis Plant in North Africa

      Background
This is a hazardous waste treatment company that focuses on recycling the oil sludge generated during the mining process of local oil companies, seeking large-scale, compliant treatment solutions to improve operational efficiency.

      Challenge
      1. Low recycling rate and resource waste
      2. Strict compliance with environmental standards requirements

      Solution
The pyrolysis technology is used to convert the oil sludge into pyrolysis oil, combustible gas and a small amount of solid residue, realizing the maximum recovery of resources. The pyrolysis oil can be sold directly, and the processing fee after recovery will bring a stable source of profit to the company, further improving the economic benefits of the project.

      Results
It has successfully processed 4,800 tons of oil sludge annually, gradually developed into a leader in the local oil sludge recycling industry, and plans to expand the project output to further enhance its industry influence.

Chemical Feedstock:Produces propylene, butadiene, and ethylene for manufacturing plastics, rubbers, and other synthetic materials.
Fuel Production: Can be catalytically reformed into gasoline or processed into kerosene, jet fuel, and various fuel oils.
Solvent Applications: Serves as an effective solvent in industrial and laboratory settings for adhesives, coatings, inks, and extraction processes..

        Non-Standard Diesel

Industrial Fuel: Suits for boilers, furnaces and more to replace traditional fuel oil.
Power Generation: Used as fuel for diesel generators.
Marine and Construction Machinery Fuel: Direct use in ships, construction, or agricultural machinery where emission standards are less strict.

        Pyrolysis Oil

        Used as fuel
Directly sold to steel mills, boiler plants, cement plant.
Turned into high-quality fuel oil after purification, mixing with standard diesel for low-speed heavy machinery, construction machinery, large trucks, and ships.

        Combustible Gas

Used as fuel in combustion chambers
        Collected separately for other uses

        rCB(recovered Carbon Black)

The rCB, a kind of eco-friendly material, is a key ingredient in the manufacture of eco-friendly tires.
The rCB can be directly used in the production of cement, asphalt, inks, coatings, and other industrial materials.

        01Raw Material Pre-Treatment

Waste tires, plastics, oil sludge, and other materials are crushed and cleaned as required, then fed into the system via spiral or hydraulic methods, reducing labor costs.

        02Reactor Heating

The raw materials are first preheated with natural gas/diesel/heavy oil, then the combustible gas generated during heating is used to supply heat to the main reactor. The pyrolysis process occurs under anaerobic conditions at temperatures below 500 °C.

        03Fraction Cutting

During the heating process of the pyrolysis furnace, when the temperature is below 200°C, the corresponding valve opens to collect light oil. When the temperature exceeds 200°C, the corresponding valve pipeline opens while the light oil pipeline closes to collect heavy oil.

        04Pyrolysis Product Processing

High-temperature pyrolysis oil and gas are condensed into fuel oil for storage, while non-condensable gases are partly reused as fuel or flared. Flue gas is treated with SCR desulfurization and denitrification to meet emission standards.

Future Opportunities of the Pyrolysis Industry

        Economic Benefits

Convert waste plastic, waste tyre, & oil sludge into saleable pyrolysis oil, naphtha, non-standard diesel and rCB(recovered Carbon Black), while reusing combustible gas produced during pyrolysis for heating to cut external fuel costs.

        Environmental Benefits

Pyrolysis reduces the amount of waste plastic, waste tires, and waste oil sludge entering landfills, thereby preventing soil and groundwater contamination. Additionally, the exhaust gases are treated through spraying, desulfurization, and dust removal to ensure compliant emissions.

        Social Benefits

Pyrolysis promotes the utilization of waste, aligning with the green and low-carbon development strategy, and contributes to achieving the goals of a circular economy and energy security.
